Kalaburagi: Kalagi taluk in Kalaburagi district has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing the second position in South India on the NITI Aayog Delta List for significant improvements across multiple development sectors.
The survey, conducted on January 7, 2023 by NITI Aayog, evaluated 500 ambitious taluks across the country on indices such as agriculture, women & child development, skill development, malnutrition, health, education, and infrastructure.

- Kalagi, along with Afzalpur and Shahabad taluks of Kalaburagi, recorded notable progress in the Human Development Index.
- As recognition, NITI Aayog has announced a special grant of ₹1 crore for Kalagi taluk.
- A committee chaired by the Deputy Commissioner is formulating guidelines to ensure strict and effective utilisation of this grant.

“It is a matter of great pride that Kalagi taluk has secured the second position in South India and received a special grant of ₹1 crore from NITI Aayog. Appropriate advice has already been given to the officials for utilisation of this grant.”
