In a swift operation, the Brahmapur police have arrested four individuals for illegally selling marijuana in a supermarket parking lot in Kalaburagi. A total of 3.2 kilograms of ganja, valued at ₹48,000, was seized during the bust.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Srikanta Mallappa Sirase (24) and Siddarama Kantu Pujari (19) from Tadakal village in Aland taluk, Durgesha Shankar Yadav (19) from Gollar Galli, Kalaburagi, and Roshan Pandit Sagara (19) from Mahagaon Cross.
Along with the narcotics, police confiscated a two-wheeler worth ₹10,000 and four mobile phones estimated at ₹15,000. The total value of seized items is approximately ₹3 lakh. All four accused have been remanded to judicial custody.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of DCPs Kanika Sikriwal and Praveen H Nayak, as well as ACP Sharanbasappa S Subedara of the Kalaburagi South sub-division. The on-ground raid was led by Brahmapur police inspector Somalinga Kiradalli and PSI Subhashchandra.
Kalaburagi Police Commissioner Dr. Sharanappa S.D. praised the team for their effective action in curbing the illegal drug trade in the city.
