BJP spokesperson Dr. Sudha Halkai today blamed Minister Priyank Kharge for Kalaburagi’s poor SSLC exam results. Speaking at a Sunday press meet, she said the district finished last in the state, with only 42% of students passing.
Dr. Halkai pointed out that Kalaburagi still lacks enough teachers—over one in three high-school jobs and nearly four in ten primary-school jobs are empty—and asked why these vacancies haven’t been filled. She also noted that the Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Board set aside ₹652 crore for the Akshara Avishkara programme, yet pass rates remain low.
She said weak teaching quality is the real problem and urged Mr. Kharge to focus on improving Kalaburagi’s exam results instead of targeting the BJP’s central leaders.
